This is Part One of my free blog-book, Guidebook to Spiritual Journeys. A roadmap to cultivating your own spirituality amid current events. Learn how developing and exercising your critical thinking can help you maintain your inner Zen.
It’s not just about lighting a candle and sitting in a salt bath. It’s not about a day at the spa. Don’t get me wrong. I love those things. Spa day is definitely in my top ten for Best Day Ever category. However, when the term “spiritual self-care” gets thrown around in spiritual/metaphysical circles it usually boils down to these common recommendations.
The science is in, humans benefit emotionally and physically from close animal bonds. To which most animal people typically shrug, and say "Welcome to the party." We've known that forever. But what about the animals themselves? Are there spiritual benefits for them?
There is a concept in the spirituality-metaphysical-paranormal-supernatural communities known as Ascension, or sometimes the Event. It’s described as the expanding and elevation in consciousness of humanity. In short, it’s an evolutionary leap. I know. It’s a big concept. I am not going to even attempt to explain it here. I can’t. The subject is too big. Let's just say there's enough information out there that makes it look like this Ascension might be for real.
I won’t be the medium to rush up and tell you where Aunt Tilly buried the gold or give you “messages from beyond.” I am the medium who will encourage you to talk to Aunt Tilly and get the message yourself. What’s that? You don’t know how? You’re scared to talk to dead people? You’re not sure you believe it? Actually yes, you can. Want to learn more?
Empaths in particular are drawn to animals, and find solace and healing in their gentle and unconditional love. When we're overwhelmed from the emotional tides of daily life, coming home to our animal companions solid, anchoring presence provides soothing relief. We find comfort in giving them a safe home, healthy food, and the tasks of their daily care can become a moving meditation, and way to connect more deeply emotionally and energetically with animals, and your own Higher Self.
The UFO Community. Is it infiltrated? What about disinformation? Who do you believe? Delving into the UFO realm is a test of personal discernment. Part of the division is between the "nuts and bolts craft" proponents and the section of the community that adds in a spiritual aspect to the UFO naratives. If the Paranormal-UFO community as a whole is to ever gain widespread acceptance, we need to find a way to heal these internal divides and build bridges between the factions.
It’s not a matter of when shit got weird. It was always weird for me. As long as I can remember. There have just been varying degrees of acceptance and ability. Believe me, there have been times where I have doubted my senses, shut down what I seeing and feeling. Been in denial about my own abilities. Have had times where I wished I didn’t have them. There have also, most assuredly been those times that are deeply, soul-enriching. These are directly attributable to regular practice and exercise of my psychic senses as part of my daily life and spiritual practice. Also to facing, and overcoming my fears about my innate psychic senses.
We know what logic, data, and analyses tell us. We know what we are told in academic institutions and news releases. Which are all necessary parts of being an informed, awake, and aware human in society today. However—does academia know everything? Does science? Do the talking heads on TV who distill this information, and dole it out in corporate-approved packets tell us the whole story? Do we get the full Truth from them?
It’s a popular new buzz word: Woke. Also Awake, or Awakening. You’ll see them all over social media: I had my awakening in … I am woke af. You need to wake up. It’s used in a variety of contexts, but in popular usage it means someone who has their eyes opened to the true facts of a situation.
